GTA Cheats Hub ("the app") is an offline reference guide for single-player cheat codes. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect.
We have tried to describe what the app actually does rather than what a template says. If anything here does not match what you observe, treat that as a bug and tell us.
The short version
The app has no account, no sign-in, and no way for us to identify you.
Your favourites and settings stay on your device and are never uploaded to us.
The app shows ads, and the advertising SDK collects an advertising ID and basic device information. That is the only category of data leaving your device that identifies your device.
You can switch personalised ads off at any time from your Android settings.
What stays on your device
The following never leaves your phone. We have no server that stores it and no way to read it.
Favourite games and cheats — saved in a local database on your device.
Settings — your theme, default platform, haptics, animation and guided-entry preferences.
The cheat database itself — the codes ship inside the app and are stored locally.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. If you have Android backup enabled, your favourites and settings may be included in your own Google account backup, which is controlled by you and your device settings, not by us.
What the app sends over the network
The app works fully offline. It makes network requests for only three things:
Ads. The app uses Google AdMob. To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising ID, approximate (non-precise) location derived from your IP address, device model and OS version, and interactions with the ads themselves. This data is collected and used by Google, not by us. Google's handling of it is described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Ad configuration. The app downloads a small settings file that controls which ad slots are enabled. This request contains no information about you beyond what any web request necessarily contains (your IP address and a standard user agent).
Cheat database updates. When new cheats are published — for example when a new game is released — the app downloads an updated database. This request likewise contains no information about you beyond your IP address.
We do not operate an analytics service, a crash reporter, or any server that profiles you.
What we never collect
Your name, email address, phone number, or any account identifier.
Your contacts, photos, files, messages, or calendar.
Your precise location.
Anything you type, other than a search term used locally to filter the cheat list, which is never transmitted.
Permissions the app asks for
Permission Why
Internet Ads, ad configuration, and cheat database updates. Nothing else.
Network state To tell you whether cheat updates can sync. The app never blocks when offline.
Notifications Only if you tap "Notify me" on an unreleased game, and used only to tell you when that game's cheats become available. You can decline and the rest of the app is unaffected.
Advertising and your choices
Ads keep the app free. You can limit how they are personalised:
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → *Delete advertising ID*, or *Opt out of Ads Personalisation*. With the ID deleted, apps including this one can no longer receive it.
In the European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change that choice later from the app's settings.
Google is an independent controller of the advertising data it collects. We do not receive it, and we cannot delete it on your behalf — use the Google controls above.
Children
This app is a reference guide for the Grand Theft Auto series, which is rated for mature audiences. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, deleting the advertising ID as described above removes the only device identifier involved.
Data retention
We hold no personal data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Data collected by Google through the ads SDK is retained according to Google's own policy, linked above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we hold no personal data about you, the practical route for any request concerning advertising data is Google's controls above. If you want to reach us about this policy, use the contact address below.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts collecting anything new, this policy will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
Not affiliated with Rockstar Games
This is an unofficial fan-made reference guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or associated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or any of their subsidiaries. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners. The app contains no game assets, artwork, audio or code — only publicly documented cheat codes and text written by us.
